Two children killed, three injured in Narok landslide

Two children died last evening following a landslide in Esongoroi village, Narok County.

The two aged between 6-8 years were suffocated to death following a landslide occasioned a heavy downpour that had been experienced in the area.

Their parents sustained minor injuries with five head of cattle being swept away by the raging waters.

Melelo ward MCA Philemon Aruasa said more than 10 families have been displaced and are in dire need of emergency services.

According to Oleshapani location Chief James Kerorei, plans are underway to evacuate the affected families.

The bodies of the deceased were moved to the Longisa county mortuary in Bomet County.
