Two children burnt to death in tragic inferno

Two children, a boy and a girl, aged 10 and 6 respectively were yester night burnt to death in their rental house at Salgaa Center in Nakuru County.

It is believed that their mother had locked them in the single iron-sheet room at around 9:30PM, before the fire broke out, apparently started by a lit jiko that was left unattended.

Speaking to Citizen Digital on phone, Rongai Division Assistant County Commissioner Ann Kanana confirmed the incident saying the locals tried to put off the fire but to no avail.

The mother, who goes by the name Lillian, collapsed after arriving at the scene and receiving information on the demise of her children.

The bodies of the deceased were taken to Nakuru County Hospital mortuary.
