Two CID officers killed in road accident

Two officers attached to Embu Division Directorate of Criminal Investigation were killed in a grisly road accident along Embu-Kitiri road Thursday, November 10.

The two officers were traveling in a salon car, Subaru Legacy model, from Matuu towards Embu when they rammed into the back of a lorry that was parked by the roadside in Muthatari area.

Confirming the incident, Embu West OCPD, Francis Sang, said that the two were heading to Eastern Region Criminal Investigation Offices when the accident occurred.

Sang said that Corporal Paul Kurgat died on the spot, while the driver, Corporal John Mwangi Kuria, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Embu Level Five Hospital.

Bodies of the two officers were removed to Embu Level Five Hospital mortuary.

Sang said the vehicles involved in the accident have been impounded at Embu Police Station.
