Two killed, 3 injured after lorry transporting miraa rams into matatu

Two people were on Monday morning killed and three others injured after a lorry transporting miraa collided with a matatu on Mwea-Embu road in Kirinyaga County.

According to witnesses who spoke to Citizen Digital, two lorries transporting miraa were overtaking each other at Nyamindi area when one of them rammed into the Neno Sacco matatu from the back. The matatu was heading to Embu from Nairobi.

Two people died on the spot while the three survivors were rushed to the Embu County Hospital by a Good Samaritan.

Police officers are currently pursuing the lorry driver who sped off after the incident.

The matatu has since been towed to Wang’uru Police Station.
