Two dead, 31 injured in Nyahururu bus accident

Two people have been confirmed dead and thirty one others injured after an accident occurred at Subukia Valley View Point on the Nyahururu-Nakuru road early today.

The 61-seater bus was reportedly trying to negotiate a sharp corner when it hit the rails of a road guard before overturning.

Among the casualties, twenty were seriously injured and are currently receiving treatment at the Nyahururu County Referral Hospital while eleven others were treated with minor injuries and discharged.

According to Nyandarua north OCPD Timon Odingo, the passengers were travelling to a wedding in Nakuru from Meru before the accident occurred.

The bodies of the deceased were taken to the Nyahururu County Referral hospital mortuary.
