Two dead, 5 injured after vehicle goes off cliff

Two people died on the spot and five others were seriously injured after a vehicle they were in went off a cliff along Kolool area in Kabarnet – Iten road on Saturday.

Confirming the incident, Kapito sub-location Chief John Kiptallum Letyo said the occupants of the Probox vehicle were on their way to a burial in Kabartonjo when they decided to stop at Kolol view point before proceeding with their journey.

The area administrator added that, after some few minutes of taking a view of the surrounding Kerio Valley escarpment, they went back into their vehicle and it plummeted down the cliff as the driver tried to reverse.

The injured were rushed to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret.
