Two dead after car collides with trailer on Nairobi-Mombasa highway

Two people died in an accident at Machinery area on the Nairobi-Mombasa highway on Thursday morning involving a trailer and a personal car.

According to Kibwezi Deputy Commissioner Vitalis Ogur, the trailer had a puncture which caused the driver to lose control and hit the smaller car from the back.

The woman, aged 40 and her 5-year-old child died on the spot.

In January, another accident on the Nairobi-Mombasa highway saw two truck burst into flames at the Kambu-Machinery Road.

The drivers of the two vehicles sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the Kibwezi and Kambu hospitals.
