Two dead as Tuk tuk rams into pick-up

Two people died on Sunday after a Tuk tuk they were travelling in collided with a pickup at Makongeni area on Homa Bay – Kendu Bay Road.

The two men – Caleb Odhiambo, 27, and Mike Ogada, 24 – are reported to have died on the spot following the Sunday afternoon crash.

Witnesses who spoke to Citizen Digital said the accident occurred after the Tuk tuk attempted to overtake a motorcycle, ramming into the pick-up that was headed in the opposite direction.

Confirming the incident, Homa Bay County Police Commander Marius Tum said the bodies of the deceased were transferred to Homa Bay County Referral Hospital Mortuary.

He further urged road users to observe traffic rules to avoid loss of lives.
