Two dead after quarry collapses in Kisii

Two men died on Monday morning after a quarry caved in on them at Nyamonema Masongo area in Kisii County.

According to Kisii South OCPD Beatrice Nduku, the pair, who worked as gravel harvesters at the quarry, were crushed to death after boulders fell on them during the incident.

The bodies of the yet to be identified victims were moved to Kisii Hospital mortuary.

The fate of other workers at the quarry remains unknown but rescue operations continue in the area.
