Two dead, several injured in Muranga accident

Two people have died and several others injured after a van crashed at Mukeu on the Kenol-Sagana road in Murang’a County.

Maragua OCPD Paul Wanjama told Citizen Digital that the private van ferrying traders from Nanyuki heading to Nairobi veered off road before crashing after a tyre burst.

“The van is licensed to ferry passengers from the market in Nanyuki to Nairobi to do shopping and this is when the accident occured,” said Wanjama.

Wanjama said police could not ascertain how many were injured since Good Samaritans took the injured to nearby hospitals.

“Our officers are still looking for those injured because some were taken to Thika and others to Kenol,” Wanjama said.

In May, five people died along the same road after a lorry ferrying timber crashed into two passenger cars.
