Two dead, two injured after lorry rams into another in Gilgil

Two people died on the spot while two others sustained serious injuries following a road accident in Gilgil, Nakuru County, on Sunday.

The accident occurred when two lorries collided head-on near Soysambu area; killing drivers of both vehicles instantly.

Confirming the incident, Nakuru County Police Commander Stephen Matu said one of the lorries was headed to Nairobi from Nakuru and the driver attempted to overtake thereby ramming into the other oncoming lorry.

The police boss further stated that the injured were rushed to St Mary’s Hospital for treatment.

Bodies of the deceased were transferred to the Gilgil sub-county hospital mortuary.
