Two drown while crossing flooded River Muangini in Makueni

Two people on Saturday night drowned while crossing the flooded River Muangini at Kasikeu location in Mukaa sub-county, Makueni County.

Confirming the incident, Kasikeu Assistant Commissioner Arthur Wanyoike said one of the bodies of the deceased has since been retrieved as search continues for the second one.

According to Mr. Wanyoike, the two were swept away on separate occasions within the night while attempting to cross the river.
