Two guards killed in Eastleigh mall robbery

Two guards were killed after suspected gangsters raided Moyale Mall in Eastleigh estate in Nairobi early Sunday morning.

According to the building’s head of security Abdi Bosa, the thugs reportedly struck the mall housing mainly clothes shops and other businesses at around 3am.

Other security guards are said to have fled the scene after the attack and their whereabouts are still unclear.

Police from Pangani Police Station have removed the bodies of the deceased from the scene as police launch an investigations into the dawn attack.

Meanwhile, police in Kitui County have launched investigations into an incident where the body of an Assistant Chief from Kyuso area was found hanging on a tree.

Kitui County Administration Police Commander Benson Wasike told Citizen Digital that it was not yet clear whether the deceased, Mutindi Mwinzi, committed suicide, or was murdered and his body hanged on the tree.

Mwinzi has further noted that there was no suicide note found near the scene of the incident.

The body has been taken to Mwingi Level 4 Hospital mortuary awaiting a post mortem.
