Two Kenya Airports Authority employees arrested over theft of luggage straps

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Saturday morning arrested two Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) employees for stealing luggage straps.

Evans Okola Agunda, an Aircraft Marshaller, and Mercy Chepkorir, an intern, were captured on CCTV footage stealing the luggage straps belonging to African Freight Services at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

In the slightly over one-minute clip, Mr. Agunda is seen parking and exiting a Prado vehicle next to countless sets of luggage straps.

He then looks around before picking one of the straps and handing it to someone on the passenger seat of the vehicle; presumably Ms. Chepkoror.

He then briefly gets back in the vehicle before exiting again and picking another one and placing it in the back seat before driving away.

The two suspects are in custody and will be arraigned in court on Monday.
