Two killed, 7 injured after Al Shabaab attack a bus in Mandera

Two people have been killed and seven others injured after a Makkaah Company bus was hijacked by suspected Al Shabaab militants between Bula 11 and El-Wak areas in Mandera County.

Some passengers managed to escape during the early morning incident.

The bus was headed to Nairobi from Mandera.

This is not the first bus attack in the region. On November 22nd, 2014, 28 people were killed on their way to Nairobi for the holiday season.

Al Shabaab claimed responsibility for the dawn attack in a statement  saying that it was revenge for the raids that were carried out by Kenyan security forces on mosques in Mombasa.
