Two killed in accident on Oyugis- Kendu Bay road

Two people were killed in a road accident after a saloon car and a motorbike collided on the Oyugis- Kendu Bay road in Homa Bay.

The accident which claimed the lives of a bodaboda rider and his passenger occurred at about 9pm near Kosele Secondary School in North Kamagak Location.

According to the area chief Benson Midigo, the saloon car and the motorbike were headed towards Kendu Bay Town from Oyugis.

Mr. Midigo said the rider stopped beside the road near the school to repair the headlight.

The vehicle which was speeding is said to have lost control and veered off the road hitting the rider and his passenger.

The administrator stated that the two sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Matata Hospital.

They died while receiving treatment.

The bodies were moved to the hospital mortuary and the vehicle was towed to Oyugis Police Station for further investigations.
