Two killed in shootout with police at Gatundu bar

Two suspected gangsters who tried robbing a bar in Gatundu South, Kiambu County died after a shootout with police.

Police busted four of them trying to steal from the pub in Gatitu shopping centre at around 3a.m.

A neighbour who heard the commotion called the bar owner who then sought intervention from Muhoho Police Post.

On arrival, a shootout ensued and one of them died on the spot.

Two others were taken to Gatundu Police Station while the body of the deceased was moved to the city mortuary.

The third suspect had managed to escape from the scene but his body was discovered on Tuesday morning at a nearby farm.

It is said that he succumbed to his injuries. By the time of publishing the body was yet to be picked by police.

Police in Gatundu also indicate that one other suspect is still on the run and they are in pursuit.
