Police in Migori Saturday arrested a 29-year-old man who is accused of defiling his niece aged 14 years at Rapogo market, in Central Kanyamkago, Uriri Sub county.

Uriri Sub-county Police Commander Peter Njoroge said the suspect identified as Samson Oloo was arrested after the minor confessed against him.

According the police boss, the girl’s mother realised that her daughter had difficulty in movement and upon interrogation; the minor admitted that she was defiled by the suspect in her absence.

The sub county police commander said a medical report from the hospital revealed that the girl was defiled.

The suspect is expected to be arraigned on Monday.

Still in the area, a 50-year-old man was arrested for allegedly defiling a mentally challenged girl aged 12 years at Kamsaki village in South Kanyamkago, Uriri Sub County.

The man identified as Joseph Otieno Okoth will also be presented in court on Monday.
