Two NYS recruits accused of murder freed on Ksh.500K bond

The two National Youth Service recruits attached to Lambwe NYS camp in Homa Bay County who are accused of murdering two casual labourers at Nyandenda Sub location have been released on bond.

The accused; Michael Adhemba and Albert Kipchirchir, were freed on a Ksh.500,000 bond with surety of similar amounts.

Appearing before Homa Bay judge Joseph Karaja, the two were charged with killing Geoffrey Ochoki and Hezbon Nyamweya on April 28, 2019, charges to which they pleaded not guilty.

Last week, the court heard that the two and others who did not appear before the court jointly murdered Ochoki and Nyamweya after they were accused of stealing a mobile phone belonging to the officer in charge of Lambwe NYS camp at a bar within Nyandenda trading center.

The case was scheduled for hearing on October 29, 2019.
