Two people killed by floods in Baringo
Two people are reported to have died after they were swept by raging floods following heavy rains in Baringo County.
The deceased, a 30-year-old man and his sister, drowned while crossing Kerio River to bring back their livestock which had crossed over to the neighbouring Elgeyo Marakwet County.
The man’s body is yet to be recovered since the incident which occurred on Friday.
The local residents have decried lack of assistance from the county government in the search operation which has been made difficult by the ongoing rains.
They appealed on the county government to help them in searching for the body, adding that even after informing the county about the incident they are yet to receive any help.
