Two police officers shot dead in Nairobi
Two police officers attached to Kayole Police station, Nairobi were on Saturday morning shot dead by unknown assailants in Nairobi’s Kayole estate.
According to police, the bodies of the two constables Linus Inima and James Gitahi, were found by officers from Kirima AP Camp after a tip off by a member of the public who reported hearing gun shots in the area at around 4:00am Saturday.
“The officers responded and on arrival at the road towards Kayole North Primary School, they found the two bodies lying on the ground,” read a police statement.
The two police officers who were on patrol in the area were also robbed of their two firearms by the attackers who are still at large.
The bodies have since been moved to Kenyatta University mortuary awaiting postmortem and police have launched a manhunt.
