Two police shot dead in Turkana shootout

Two police officers have been shot dead by bandits at Lokichar trading center in Turkana County.

The two were killed during a shootout with the bandits who were intercepted while transporting contraband goods.

According to Turkana South OCPD Lazarus Wambua, one bandit was shot dead during the incident that left a third police wounded.

Wambua says the suspects opened fire on after the officers attempted to stop the lorry at a road block.

The lorry was carrying bags of sugar and one AK 47 rifle which were confiscated during the operation.
