Two raped, five injured after gang attacks Bumula villages

Police in Bumula sub-County, Bungoma county have started investigations after a gang of two invaded Mukhuma, Kibachenje and Watoya villages on on Sunday night where they raped two women and seriously injured five people.

According to the survivors, the gang was demanding motorcycles and money and failing to find any started attacking the residents and raping women.

Attempts from the victims to call out for help from neighbours were drowned out by the heavy downpour pounding the area during the time of the attack.

“We were ordered to produce a motorbike and when we told them we did not have one, they told me to lie down as they took our mother to our food store and asked her to produce the money left after paying school fees. They then raped me in turns as the attacked our mother with a panga,” said the victim, a Form One student.

The victims were taken to Bumula West Hospital in critical condition, according to Oscar Lukosi, a clinical officer.

The rape victims have beeen attended to and the injured victims admitted.

No one has been arrested yet.
