Two Rivers to Change Face of Business in Africa, Centum CEO Says

Two Rivers will be at the heart of the affluent Runda, Gigiri, and Muthaiga neighbourhoods.

According to Centum Investment Chief executive Officer James Mworia, the complex, which will include a five star hotel, residential apartments and an office park, will be located on a 100 acre piece of land.

The complex will also be located a few minutes from the United Nations complex and several embassies.

The whole project is estimated to cost around Ksh 60 billion and is set to open in October this year.

Mr. Mworia says that “the mall, with a gross lettable area of 62,000 square metres, is set to open in October with French retailer Carrefour as the anchor tenant.”

“Two Rivers is expected to generate approximately 2 billion shillings in annual rental income,” he said.

Affordable areas of doing business

Centum Investment, which is undertaking the project led by its chairman Chris Kirubi, is also undertaking the development of a 1000MW coal fired power plant to be located in Lamu County.

Gulf Energy Limited and Centum led a consortium which also comprised Sichuan Electric Power Design and Consulting Company Limited (SEDC), Sichuan No. 3 Power Construction Company (SEPCC) and China Huadian Corporation Power Operation Company (CHD) to win the multi-billion tender.

Mr. Mworia says that Centum’s motivation is anchored on its objective to empower more and more people through tangible benefits.

"What we look at as Centum is providing affordable and flexible areas of doing business across the world with state of art infrastructure."

He notes that the Real Estate sector is what will transform the economy of this country despite the nature of changing customers.
