Two robbers shot dead in Emali

Two suspected robbers were on Thursday shot dead by policemen after they attempted to rob an electronics shop at Nzaui, Makueni County.

According Nzaui OCPD Alex Ndungu, the two threatened to shoot the shop’s owner with a pistol before making away with some of his inventory and cash.

“The two used violence to force the Iko Promotion shop owner to comply with their demands. They stole money, phones and SIM cards among other things,” Ndungu said.

According to eyewitnesses, members of the public gathered outside the shop called police and reported the theft.

Police officers pursued the suspects, cornering them at Ndunduni, a few kilometers from Emali Town, where they shot them dead.

A pistol without ammunition was found on the suspects, along with the stolen goods and cash.

The bodies of the suspects were moved to Makindu Hospital morgue.
