Two school girls swept by flash floods

Two girls from Kanyorosha Primary School in Kangemi, Nairobi County were killed Thursday morning after they were swept by flash floods after Nairobi River burst its banks.

The two standard six and seven girls are said to have gone to the river to wipe their shoes after arriving to school.

Resident managed to retrieve the body of the standard seven pupil and a school uniform.

Residents, however, say they were overwhelmed by the waters and were unable to search for the second girl.
