Two shot as gunmen attack market at Uasin Gishu  Kakamega border

Two people were shot and injured after armed gangsters invaded Kipkaren market at the Uasin Gishu – Kakamega border.

Consempta Naliaka and Richard Obole sustained serious injuries and are admitted at Lumakanda-Sub County Hospital in Lugari Constuency, Kakamega County.

The gangsters, who were armed with two AK-47 rifles, robbed two business people an unknown amount of money before they opened fire.

The two victims said they were going about their business when the gangsters started firing at anyone on site.

After scaring away the traders, the armed men are reported to have robbed a retail and M-Pesa shop before escaping towards a nearby maize plantation.

It is unclear how much money they stole from the M-Pesa shop and retail store.
