Two suspected gangsters shot dead in Ruiru

Two suspected gangsters were Wednesday morning gunned down by police at Karuguru area in Ruiru, Kiambu County.

According to police, the two were among a gang of 10 suspects who had broken into more that eight houses in Juja estate on Tuesday night targeting electronic goods.

In one of the homesteads, the gangsters reportedly stole a Probox vehicle which was fitted with a car tracking system that aided police in tracking them.

Police from Juja and Ruiru who were trailing the suspects used the tracking system to switch off the Probox vehicle, which two of the suspects were using to ferry the stolen goods.

The suspects abandoned the vehicle but were ambushed by police as they fled on motorbikes sparking a fierce gunfire exchange where the two were shot dead.

Ruiru OCPD James Ng’etich confirmed the incident, saying the vehicle was towed to Kasarani police station together with the stolen goods.

The bodies of the felled suspects were moved to Nairobi City mortuary.
