Two suspects arraigned over murder of KMTC lecturer

Two suspects were on Friday arraigned at Mwingi Law Courts in connection with the murder of Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) lecturer Eunice Kiema.

Jackson Nzagi Wambua and Mutie Kiema were arrested two weeks ago in Mwingi town after the tutor was killed in her car near Mwingi livestock market.

Prosecution sought to detain the two for another seven days claiming they needed more time to collect data from the phone of the first accused, Jackson Wambua.

Mwingi Law Courts Principal Magistrate Mogire Ogomba however denied the prosecution any more time to hold the suspects.

The magistrate further directed them to either present the two before the High Court on Monday or release them if they lack enough evidence to charge them.

Magistrate Ogomba also stated that the 15 days the prosecution was previously granted was sufficient to gather enough evidence.
