Two suspects arrested over kidnap of boy, 4, in Thika

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping of a 4-year-old child boy on Friday night at Thika Section 9 area.

However, the whereabouts of baby Kelson Kimani remains unknown even as the police say they have received crucial leads.

On the fateful day Kelson’s mother, Catherine Nyambura, came home only to find the door open and her children together with their grandmother held hostage by armed gunmen.

“Immediately I entered they pointed a gun at me and asked for my cooperation. They told me to give them money if I didn’t want them to harm my children,” narrated Nyambura.

Despite surrendering Ksh300, 000 the robbers still made off with her 4-year-old Kelson Kimani.

“I took the girl and hid her under the table and from there she told me that they went with Kelson,” narrated a sobbing Nyambura.

Nyambura and her husband have already recorded statements at Thika Police Station where the two suspects are being held.

The police have assured the family that they working around the clock to apprehend the culprits and return baby Kelson safely to his parents.

They (police) at the same time are calling on members of the public to volunteer any information that can lead to the recovery of the kidnapped child.
