Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the raping of two women at Kojwang sub-location in Rachuonyo North, Homa Bay County.

The suspects are accused of attacking and raping the women aged 64 and 30 years old in different occasions.

The arrest came in the wake of escalating insecurity in five villages in Kojwang sub-location where criminal gangs are reported to be terrorising widows and women whose husbands are away.

Homa Bay County Deputy Police Commander Samuel Obara confirmed the arrest saying one of the suspect was apprehended last night and the other on Tuesday night.

Speaking at a pubic Baraza at Mariwa village in Kojwang sub Location, the police commander said the two were detained at Kendu Bay Police Station pending arraignment on Friday.
