Two women arrested in possession of bhang

Two women are being held at Bondo Police Station after they were arrested on Wednesday with over 100 rolls of bhang and 29 liters of chang’aa, at Nyaguda village, Bondo sub-County.

The suspects, Mary Awino and Lillian Akinyi, were arrested by area Chief Patrick Obilo following a tip-off from members of the public.

According to Obilo, Awino was found in possession of the 29 liters of chang’aa, while Akinyi was arrested with the rolls of bhang worth Ksh 20,000.

Obilo said that the drugs are suspected to have been smuggled from neighboring Uganda through the Wich-lum beach.

The suspects will be arraigned in court once investigations are complete
