Woman who gave ladies drugs for spiking drinks in clubs arrested in Nairobi

Two women suspected to be part of a group that has been spiking drinks at clubs in Nairobi and stealing from victims have been arrested.

Catherine Njanja Wangeci was arrested at the Njakwa chemist in Luthuli Avenue.

Police say she has been giving drugs to two ladies to spike people’s drinks in bars and restaurants.

The identity of the second suspect who was arrested in Linkea area, Kahawa West is yet to be revealed.

One of them has been linked to a case involving one of Kenya’s top author’s Yvonne Adhiambo Owuor.

Two men, Joshua Murimi Ndegwa and Nelson Njoroge Wambui, were also arrested.

Police say the two men would step in after victims were drugged and rob them or force them to give ATM pins then withdraw cash from their bank accounts.

It is alleged that the suspects are also behind a spate of thefts in the city and surrounding areas.

Police recovered fake dollars, 8 rounds of ammunition, a machete, two pricey watches and a collection items suspected to have been stolen from drugged victims.

A third suspect Charity Gachambi Njuguna remains at large.
