Two-year old burnt to death in night inferno

Police in Kirinyaga County are investigating a midnight fire incident at Kibingoti village in Ndia Constituency where a two-year-old girl died and several families left homeless.

Ndia West Assistant Deputy County Commissioner, Catherine Rono, visited the scene and said the County Government of Kirinyaga fire fighters contained the situation before the fire could spread to the nearest houses.

According to a Kibingoti village elder, John Kinyua, nothing was salvaged with residents suspecting a tin lamp in one of the houses to have caused the fire.

The residents accused the county government of failing to act fast enough to help save the little girl.
