U.S. President Barrack Obama heckled by campaigner

U.S. President Barack Obama was heckled by an immigration campaiger on Wednesday at a reception at the White House in observance of LGBT Pride Month

President Obama addressed the upcoming Supreme Court decision on same-sex marriage during a speech at the event, but was interrupted by a heckler shouting: “Not one more deportation”.

Obama appeared to be notably impatient with the interrupter.

“It’s not respectful when you get invited to somebody [‘s house]. You are not going to get a good response from me by interrupting me like this. Shame on you, you shouldn’t be doing this,” Obama said to heckler.

Obama asked the protester to be escorted from the Whit House.

“As a general rule, I am just fine with a few hecklers but not when I am up in the house,” Obama joked when the heckler was taken away.

Reuters was not able to independetely verify the heckler’s identity but she was named in LGBTQ group Get Equal website as Jennicet Gutierrez.

Obama was hosting LGBT community as the nine U.S. Supreme Court justices prepare to issue major rulings on gay marriage and President Barack Obama’s healthcare law by the end of the month.

Of the 11 cases left to decide,one of the biggest is a challenge by gay couples to state laws banning same-sex marriage.

Many legal experts predict the court will legalize gay marriage nationwide by finding that the U.S. Constitution’s guarantees of equal treatment under the law and due process prohibit states from banning same-sex nuptials.
