Over 60,000 residents of Uasin Gishu County stand to benefit from two water projects from the national government that are set to cost Ksh 500 million.
Speaking to Citizen Digital, Water Principal Secretary, Prof. Fred Segor, said that the two projects involve rehabilitation and upgrading of abandoned water reservoirs.
He added that the project will be implemented in Soy and Turbo Constituencies with the aim of making clean and safe water accessible to families living in the area.
Segor, who was speaking during the launch of Leseru Integrated Project in Turbo Constituency, said the project will be completed in 12 months and will cost the government approximately Ksh 380 million.
The PS also inspected the Soy Naivalus Dam which is currently undergoing rehabilitation and is part of the Soy- Kosachei Water Project.
