UASU Issues A 14Days Ultimatum

The unions are demanding payment of 7.8 billion shillings released by Treasury to pay salaries and allowances.

 

The University Academic Staff Union, UASU Secretary General Prof. Muga K'olale has accused Vice Chancellors of not releasing the money.

 

K’olale has further called on the President and his deputy to intervene to avert the looming strike.

 

While addressing teaching and non-teaching staff at Masinde Muliro University in Kakamega, the Kenya Universities Staff Union,KUSU’s Secretary General, Charles Mukhwaya said the monies negotiated during the 2010-2013 collective bargaining agreement had been diverted to other uses.

 

The officials are on a national tour to sensitize their officials, to be ready for the strike, if the government does not heed their call.
