Ugandan Househelp To Be Sentenced Today

22 year old Jolly Tumuhiirwe was arraigned in court on Monday and pleaded guilty to charges of torturing the 18 month old child.

Tumuhiirwe’s act of torture was captured after worried parents secretly installed a CCTV camera to monitor the house while they were away at work.

The child’s parents were shocked to see images of the maid pushing their 18-month-old baby girl to the floor and physically abusing her.

The baby who was bruised and emotionally affected by the abuse received medical treatment and is now fully recovered.

State prosecutor Joyce Tushabe said the house help apologized for the act and asked for forgiveness from the parents of the child, the nation, and those she said were affected by her acts.
