Ugandan police spokesperson Andrew Felix Kaweesi shot dead
Ugandan Police Spokesperson, Andrew Felix Kaweesi, has been shot dead.
This was after his convoy was attacked by gunmen near his home at Kulambiro in the outskirts of Kampala.
According to a government official, Kaweesi, who is also the Assistant Inspector General of Police, was killed alongside his two bodyguards and his driver as they left his home for work in his official car.
His death comes just a day after he defended the government on the alleged killings in Kasese.
Kaweesi was appointed spokesman as the Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) sought to change its tainted image as well as channel out quick responses to criticism to the force on social media and the media in general.
