Uhuru calls for political tolerance
President Uhuru Kenyatta has called for political tolerance in the country following chaotic scenes witnessed during NASA and Jubilee campaigns in Thika, Muranga, Kisumu and Baringo.
Speaking during the funeral service of late Interior CS, Joseph Nkaissery, President Kenyatta said the youth who attacked Jubilee and NASA leaders during their campaigns should tolerate divergent views.
The President called on all Kenyans to emulate the example of Nkaissery by encouraging peace as we approach the August 8 polls.
NASA presidential flag bearer, Raila Odinga’s motorcade was attacked in Thika on Thursday, while Deputy President William Ruto was also heckled during the President’s tour of Kisumu County on Wednesday.
