President Uhuru Kenyatta has eulogized former Permanent Secretary Sammy Mbova as a devoted nationalist who served this country with commitment and loyalty.

The President said that, throughout his career as a public servant, the late Mbova was zealous to provide services to all Kenyans irrespective of their social or economical backgrounds.

The President said the late Mbova was an astute civil servant in the various dockets he served in during his long career in the public service.

Mr. Mbova passed away on Monday this week while undergoing treatment at a Nairobi hospital.

“The late Mbova was a loyal public servant ready to serve all Kenyans. His commitment to duty saw him rise through the ranks in public service. Indeed, we have lost a great Kenyan,” said President Kenyatta.

The President noted that, after retirement from Public Service, the former PS initiated various successful enterprises, which helped create wealth and employment to many Kenyans.

“His desire to improve the lives of all Kenyans is evident in how he initiated successful enterprises in several parts of this country which contributed to economic empowerment of many Kenyans,” said the President.

President Kenyatta urged Kenyans and, especially public servants, to emulate those who served the country with exemplary commitment knowing that they are building a great nation for all.
