Uhuru leaves for Rwanda to sign free trade area deal

President Uhuru Kenyatta has left the country for Rwanda where he will join other Heads-of State in signing a deal to boost free trade in Africa.

The agreement seeks to spur economic growth and industrialisation as well as spur development of infrastructure.

The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) pact will also prioritise resolution of issues regarding non-tariff barriers, trade and customs procedures.

In addition, the free trade agreement is expected to ease business travel within the continent. President Kenyatta is expected to return to Kenya on Wednesday evening.
