Uhuru meets former President Moi in Kabarak

President Uhuru Kenyatta has met with former former Head of State Daniel Moi.

The President visited Mr. Moi on his way to the funeral of the late Mrs. Sarah Kasaon in Rongai, Nakuru.

She was the wife of Lieutenant General Joseph Kasaon, former Kenya Defense Forces Vice Chief.

According to acting Press Secretary Alex Kiprotich, President Uhuru Kenyatta held a closed door meeting with Mr. Moi at his Kabarak home.

“The President wished Mzee Moi well,” the statement reads.

Mzee Moi on his part thanked the President for steering the country towards unity.

Present during the meeting was Baringo Senator Gideon Moi.

DP Ruto was not present at the meeting but joined President Kenyatta later at the Rongai funeral.

The DP then left for Murang’a to attend the homecoming of Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro.

Earlier we had erroneously indicated that DP Ruto accompanied President Uhuru Kenyatta to visit Mr. Moi. We have since established that he was not present for the meeting but only went for Mrs. Sarah Kasaon’s funeral.
