“Throughout his career as a journalist before joining politics, the late Senator Okello propagated messages of peace, love and unity and he never shied from standing for what was right for the country,” the President said in a statement.
Senator Okello, a former Ramogi FM and KBC presenter, died at the MP Shah Hospital in Nairobi after a long battle with throat cancer.
“Indeed, Senator Okello was keen in uniting Kenyans that’s why he joined politics; it was easy for the people to elect him.
“They had seen his passion and zeal in providing leadership by espousing national values when he was a journalist,” President Kenyatta said.
He assured the family and the people of Migori of his support saying God will give them comfort and fortitude to bear the loss.
