Uhuru nominates Wabukala for top EACC job

President Uhuru Kenyatta has nominated retired Anglican Church head Arch Bishop Eliud Wabukala for appointment as EACC Chairman.

The President has also sent Wabukala’s name to the National Assembly for vetting.

National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi has since directed the Justice and Legal Affairs committee to vet Wabukhala before he is appointed to the post.

The Public Service Commission had shortlisted six candidates for the position of EACC chairperson.

The position of EACC chairman became vacant following the resignation of Philip Kinisu on the 31st of August after he was implicated in the Ksh.791 million NYS scandal.
