Uhuru, Ruto take on Raila over use of military to rig polls claims

President Uhuru Kenyatta has lashed out at Opposition leader, Raila Odinga, over his recent allegations that the Government was planning to use the Country’s Security forces to rig August 8 polls.

Addressing a rally in Kapsabet show ground, the President termed the allegations as careless and irrelevant adding that it was irresponsible of Raila to tarnish the disciplined forces as Kenya Defence Forces and other Security apparatus by claims that they would participate in rigging votes.

This follows claims by the opposition chief of Jubilee government’s plan to use the military to rig next month’s General Election.

Raila also claims that extra ballot papers have already been printed and will be used in ballot stuffing under operation ‘Special Transit Goods From Greenhouse’.

Raila further said that he had at hand documented evidence that the soldiers are being trained in Mariakani, Mombasa County and will also be used to cut water and power to Kenyans during voting day and create voter apathy.

Kenyatta further criticized Raila’s call to have the Kenyan Forces in Somalia recalled saying Kenya’s disciplined forces were there to guard property, the lives of the Kenyan people as well as man the boundaries against external aggression from Al Shaabab.

While selling his development agenda, President Kenyatta maintained that together with his Deputy William Ruto, the Jubilee administration’s top agenda is to ensure the country’s development is top notch.

On his part, Ruto stressed that elections would be held as slated on August 8th adding that NASA are allegedly panicking as the election date draws nearer.

The DP further urged Nandi residents to turn out in large numbers and vote for Jubilee come August.
