Uhuru speaks on Railas KDF rigging elections claims

President Uhuru Kenyatta has laughed off National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga’s accusations that Jubilee is planning to use Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) to rig the August 8 polls, saying that the former Prime Minister is a ‘rumour monger’ who is trying to polarize the country having sensed defeat already.

Raila made accusations against the government on Tuesday, June 20 that the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) are currently training personnel to help rig the August 8, 2017 presidential elections in favor of Jubilee Party’s candidate, President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking in Murang’a during a campaign rally, the President described Odinga and his opposition brigade as ‘people who are specialized in bringing chaos in the country’ based on recent remarks where the ODM leader is alleged to have incited Kenyans to violence, accusations that the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Keriako Tobiko is looking into.

“We want to have a new generation of leaders who are development oriented and not tribal. I call upon you (residents) to vote for me so as to continue with the projects that we have already initiated,” said the President.

His deputy, William Ruto, urged residents to turn out in large numbers and vote for Jubilee in a six-piece kind of voting.

He downplayed NASA’s continued publicity of having 10 million strong voters, saying that the opposition has sensed defeat and that is why they are trying to intimidate and threaten IEBC.

“We want to continue with our work of tarmacking roads, connecting more Kenyans to electricity, and other projects. Let us not be deceived by NASA who are made up of leaders with empty rhetoric and no issues,” said the DP.

The President and his deputy promised more goodies not just for farmers in Murang’a but across the country, attacking Odinga of belittling their projects.

“The government has subsidized farmers across the country. He, Raila, forgets that we implemented livestock insurance to serve pastoralists and that we have put in so much money to revive Pan Paper,” added the President.
