Uhuru to lead country in marking Mzee Jomo Kenyatta’s anniversary

President Uhuru Kenyatta will on Monday lead the country in remembering the country’s founding father Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, State House has said.

Speaking in Nairobi, State House Spokesman Manoah Esipisu said the president will attend a ceremony of the laying of wreaths at Mzee Kenyatta’s Mausoleum at Parliament Buildings, and thereafter attend a memorial service at the Holy Family Minor Basilica, at 10 am.

Tomorrow (Monday) marks the 38th anniversary of the passing on of His Excellency Mzee Jomo Kenyatta.

Mzee Kenyatta died in August 22, 1978 in Mombasa of natural causes attributed to old age.

The public is invited to attend the event.
