Uhuru wraps up campaigns in Western Kenya

President Uhuru Kenyatta has solicited votes from electors in Western Kenya stating that it is only fair to let him finish what he started.

He noted that he has laid strong foundations for prosperity by investing evenhandedly in every county in Kenya.

Speaking at Kimilili Tuesday (August 1) in his final campaign rally in Western Kenya, he said the developments initiated in Bungoma County during his five year tenure  can self-substantiate that Jubilee Government has delivered a commendable development record.

Under Jubilee’s achievements in Bungoma County, he listed the revival of the Panpaper factory, which  he said has already created 1,000 jobs and is projected to create more employment in the area.

Further, the President was keen to mention Nzoia Sugar factory, which the Government recently disbursed Ksh 300 million to settle the debts  of sugar cane farmers.

Advancing the list, he pitched the ongoing projects in the state like construction of roads, the Standard Gauge Railway, improving healthcare, reforming the education sector  that will see free secondary school education and paid internship for graduates.

The Head of State received massive support from Bungoma leaders led  by Governor Ken Lusaka  who helped him drum votes for his presidential  bid in the August 8 General Election.

He, however, pointed out that the Jubilee Government has spent immense resources to rectify problems that were created and neglected by previous governments that were run by those in the opposition, citing the collapse of Panpaper factory.
