Gumbo to undergo lifestyle audit if elected governor

Rarieda MP Nicholas Gumbo has pledged to subject himself to annual lifestyle audit if he is elected the governor of Siaya County in the August 8th elections.

Gumbo, also the chairman of the National Assembly’s powerful Public Accounts Committee made the remarks during a campaign rally at Ahindi Gardens in Siaya town where he denied a report that was published in the media that he would sack county employees if elected governor in August.

The MP clarified that he meant to say he wouldn’t work with corrupt county officials who are depriving the public of their right to services.

Flanked by Bondo MP Gideon Ochanda, Gumbo promised to work with all elected leaders if elected governor to develop the county.

The Siaya County gubernatorial race has so far attracted four contestants including former Regional Development PS Carey Orege, businessman William Oduol and the incumbent Cornel Rasanga.
